Hospital Visit
My cousin Luana is in the hospital. I thought I would bring my guitar and play for her. My Taylor Academy 12e-N classical guitar (Sally) has a soft mellow sound fit for a hospital. Taylor is my instrument of choice, I also have Jane, a Taylor acoustic 214, I brought some music that I collected specifically for her. When I got there I met her daughter, Jackie, in the hall. She is her mom's main caregiver, she looked tired and worried but smiled when she saw me. When we entered the room my cousin was awake, looking much better. I took out my guitar and played for her. I played some of the classical tunes I learned in college, which she enjoyed. We talked and laughed if days gone by as I plucked at the sting’s melodically. I had brought a couple music books to look for tunes she might recognize. When I started playing, in her excitement she said, Here Comes the Sun” !
